U1000 - 12: Accessory Power mode Input - Circuit Short to Battery Overview: ISO Code (DTC Code) U1000 - 12 Customer Symptom Accessory power mode may operate and head lamps may operate when in battery-only power mode Fault Effects (On Vehicle) 1. Accessory power mode may operate and head lamps may operate when in battery-only power mode 2. Battery Drain Lamp Status (If Any) NA Fault Detection Condition This fault will be logged after the input switch test routine execution. User has to operate the switch manually during routine. If short to battery fault is detected for ignition power mode input switch then this DTC code will be returned with the Routine results. Normal Operating Condition There should not be any fault returned by routine. Probable Trouble Area 1. BCM connector wired wrong 2. Cockpit wiring harness short to ground 3. switch damaged 4. Ignition switch failure Healing Condition 1. Ignition OFF  ON 2. Clear DTC Command Component Details: Accessory power mode input switch is part of Ignition switch and interfaced to the BCM. If the Accessory power mode input switch is activated and head lamps and power windows functionality will work properly. If user put the ignition switch to Accessory power mode input position, head lamps and power windows functionality will work. Accessory power mode input switch is active high. Preliminary Checks: 1. Check Battery Voltage (9V-16V) 2. Check ECU pins for oxidation, bending & damage. Trouble Shooting:-
