Trouble Shooting: B161E – 23: Mechanical Key Reset Signal – Signal Stuck Low START Connect Diagnostic tool and check for DTCs Is DTC B161E-23 present? STOP NO Check DTC present is Permanent or Historic Is History? 1. Press the Mechanical Key Reset Signal and release it. 2. Clear DTC Is DTC B161E- 23 present? YES NO YES NO Disconnect vehicle battery connection. (Please follow the safety guidelines) Check BCM andMechanical Key Reset Signal connectors for terminal backout Are connectors loose? Reconnect connectors firmly YES 1.Remove BCM side wiring harness Connector. 2.Perform visual check of connectors for pins bent or damaged etc. NO YES A B C C
