B2218 - 12: Headlamp Auto On Enable Switch - Circuit short to Battery Overview: ISO Code B2218 - 12 Customer Symptom Low beam and position lamps always OFF due to auto lamp features. Fault Effects (On Vehicle) Low beam and position lamps always OFF due to auto lamp features. Lamp Status (If Any) Always OFF Fault Detection Condition This fault will be logged after the input switch test routine execution. User has to operate the switch manually during routine. If short to battery fault is detected for Auto switch then this DTC code will be returned with the Routine results. Normal Operating Condition There should not be any fault returned by routine Probable Trouble Area 1. BCM connector Fault 2. Auto from combi switch input Short to from cockpit wiring harness 3. Switch damaged or stuck 4. Combi switch connector fault. 5. BCM ECU fault Healing Condition 1. Ignition OFF  ON 2. Clear DTC Command Component Details: Auto Main beam switch is part of combination stalk switch and interfaced to the BCM. If the IGN is on and headlamps are ON and if user put the combi switch to auto position, low beams, Position lamps will turn ON, if RLS sensor gives activation input. Preliminary Checks: 1. Check Battery Voltage (12.5 V & above) 2. Check ECU pins for oxidation, bending & damage. Trouble Shooting:-
