B2239 – 23: Rear Fog Lamp Control Switch – Signal Stuck Low Overview: ISO Code B2239 - 23 Customer Symptom Rear fog lamp does not operate. Fault Effects (On Vehicle) 1. Rear Fog lamp will not come ON 2. Facia Switch illumination for fog lamp will not turn ON Lamp Status (If Any) Always OFF Fault Detection Condition This fault gets logged by BCM; if signal stuck low condition is detected for rear fog lamp switch. Normal Operating Condition If the IGN is ON and headlamps / position lamps are ON and Front fog Lamps are ON then Rear fog lamps shall turn ON immediately after pressing the front fog lamp switch. Probable Trouble Area 1. BCM connector Fault 2. Rear fog lamp switch input wire Short to ground from cockpit wiring harness 3. Switch damaged or stuck 4. Facia Switch connector fault. 5. BCM ECU fault Healing Condition 1. Ignition OFF ON 2. Clear DTC Command Component Details: Rear fog lamp switch is part of facia switch bank. If the IGN is ON and headlamps / position lamps are ON and front fog lamps are ON and user presses the rear fog lamp switch, rear fog lamps will turn ON. Preliminary Checks: 1. Check Battery Voltage (12.5 V & above) 2. Check ECU pins for oxidation, bending & damage.
