B2229 – 11: Left Turn Indicator – Short to Ground Overview: ISO Code B2229 - 11 Customer Symptom Left Turn Indicator Lamps always OFF. Fault Effects (On Vehicle) One of left Turn Indicator Lamps always OFF. Lamp Status (If Any) Always OFF Fault Detection Condition BCM log this fault when Left turn Indicator lamp output is short to ground. Normal Operating Condition Turn Indicator lamp comes ON when turn indicator switch is activated. Probable Trouble Area 1. BCM connector Fault 2. Left Turn Indicator lamp output wire Short to ground 3. Lamp damaged 4. BCM ECU fault 5. Left Turn Indicator lamp mating connector fault Healing Condition 1. Ignition OFF  ON 2. Clear DTC Command Component Details: Left Turn Indicator lamps are located at left front, left rear and left side of the vehicle. Turn Indicator lamp comes ON when turn indicator switch is activated. Preliminary Checks: 1. Check Battery Voltage (12.5 V & above) 2. Check ECU pins for oxidation, bending & damage
