B2242 – 11: Right Front Fog Lamp Circuit – Short to Ground Overview: ISO Code B2242 - 11 Customer Symptom 1. Right Front Fog Lamps always OFF. 2. Facia Switch illumination for rear fog lamp always OFF Fault Effects (On Vehicle) 1. Right Front Fog Lamps always OFF. 2. Facia Switch illumination for left fog lamp always OFF Lamp Status (If Any) Always OFF Fault Detection Condition BCM log this fault when right front fog lamp output is short to ground. Normal Operating Condition If the IGN is ON and headlamps / position lamps are ON then front fog lamps shall turn ON immediately after pressing the front fog lamp switch. Probable Trouble Area 1. BCM connector Fault 2. Right front fog lamp output wire Short to ground 3. Lamp damaged 4. BCM ECU fault 5. Right front fog lamp mating connector fault Healing Condition 1. Ignition OFF  ON 2. Clear DTC Command Component Details: Right front fog lamps are located at right front side of vehicle. If the IGN is ON and headlamps / position lamps are ON and user presses the front fog lamp switch then front fog lamps turn ON. Preliminary Checks: 1. Check Battery Voltage (12.5 V & above) 2. Check ECU pins for oxidation, bending & damage Trouble Shooting:-
