B221A – 12 : Headlamp On Signal – circuit short to battery Overview: ISO Code B221A - 12 Customer Symptom Headlamp always OFF Fault Effects (On Vehicle) Headlamp lamps always OFF Lamp Status (If Any) Always OFF Fault Detection Condition This fault will be logged after the input switch test routine execution. User has to operate the switch manually during routine. If short to battery fault is detected for Headlamp switch then this DTC code will be returned with the Routine results. Normal Operating Condition There should not be any fault returned by routine Probable Trouble Area 1. BCM connector Fault 2. Cockpit Headlamp switch input wire Short to battery 3. Switch damaged or stuck 4. BCM ECU fault Healing Condition 1. Ignition OFF  ON 2. Clear DTC Command Component Details: HeadlampON switch is part of combi switch. If the IGN is at ACC/ON position and through combi switch head lamp are turned ON then headlamps will turn ON. Preliminary Checks: 1. Check Battery Voltage ( 9 V & above) 2. Check ECU pins for oxidation, bending & damage. Trouble Shooting:-
