U1017 – 15: Control Module Output Power 2 – circuit short to battery or open Overview: ISO Code (DTC Code) U1017 – 15 Customer Symptom No immediate symptoms. Fault Effects (On Vehicle) N/A. Lamp Status (If Any) N/A. Fault Detection Condition This fault gets logged by BCM when Control Module Output Power 2 output is shorted to battery or open. Internal 12V output from BCM supplied to rain light sensor. Normal Operating Condition Rain light sensor runs over 12V output supply. Probable Trouble Area 1. BCM connector wired wrong. 2. Control Module Output Power 2 harness wire shorted to battery or open. 3. Control Module Output Power 2 Node/components damaged. Healing Condition 1. Ignition OFF  ON 2. Clear DTC Command Component Details: Rain light sensor is powered up from BCM 12V output supply. Preliminary Checks: 1. Check Battery Voltage (9V-16V) 2. Check ECU pins for oxidation, bending & damage.
