U1305-88: LIN Bus Communication-Bus off Overview: ISO Code U1305-88 Customer Symptom 1. Engine Start Stop function will not work 2. Intelligent Alternator Control Function will not work 3. Alternator will not be able to charge and discharge the battery Fault Effects (On Vehicle) 1. Engine Start Stop function will not work 2. Intelligent Alternator Control Function will not work 3. Alternator will not be able to charge and discharge the battery 4. LIN Alternator will work as Convnetional Alternator Lamp Status (If Any) No Fault Detection Condition LIN BUS short to battery, ground/open Normal Operating Condition 1. Control functioning properly 2. IAC, ESS functioning properly Probable Trouble Area LIN connection with EMS ECU is disconnected. Healing Condition After 1 Drive cycles and ignition ON Fault permanent deletion 1. Scan tool Service 14 2. Stack Over Flow. 3. 40 warm up cycles. 4. ECU flashing 5. ECU power fail Component Details: The Alternator control integrated circuit is a monolithic multifunction communicated regulator specifically designed for closed loop voltage control for Valeo 12V automotive 3 phase alternators with a rotating field winding. The ECU will be able to communicate with the IAC via LIN interface. Preliminary Checks: 1. Please connect the diagnostic tool on the vehicle. 2. Read the DTCs in EMS ECU. 3. Check LIN Bus Connections to ECU. 4. Check LIN bus short to battery. 5. Check LIN bus short to ground and open. 6. Check LIN Alternator & IBS Loose connector. Trouble Shooting: - 1. After connecting the TDS tool in the vehicle, read the DTCs in the EMS ECU. 2. Please check the DTC U1305-88 status byte. If confirmed DTC then follow below steps. If it is in memorized state clear the DTC. 3. Please check the IAC connector is connected to alternator controller properly. Please fix the connection if it is not properly connected. 4. Please check the IAC LIN continuity with EMS LIN connection. Please check for the continuity of EMS LIN pin with Battery/ GND. Please correct if continuity is not found. 5. Clear the DTCs. . DTC’s Healing Confirmation: - After rectification, ensure the following points by referring engine parameters using TML diagnostic tool before handing over to customer.
