P0321-7: Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Range/Performance Overview: ISO Code U0321-7 Customer Symptom If error occurs in Idle-vehicle will switch off If error occurs during driving-vehicle will run in limp home mode If error occurs before starting-vehicle will start & run in limp home Fault Effects (On Vehicle) If error occurs in Idle-vehicle will switch off If error occurs during driving-vehicle will run in limp home mode If error occurs before starting-vehicle will start & run in limp home Lamp Status (If Any) CE lamp ON after 3 drive cycles Fault Detection Condition Vehicle will start & run in limp home Normal Operating Condition Vehicle will run properly with idle engine speed. Probable Trouble Area Wiring Harness Connections, Sensor Healing Condition Engine running and 1 drive cycles Preliminary Checks: 1. Loose connection or poor contact on socket 2. Disturbance on sensor lines caused by the starter 3. Disturbance on sensor lines during a stop phase 4. Bad crankshaft trigger wheel provokes reverse signal that is not plausible. Trouble Shooting:- DTC’s confirmation:- After rectification, ensure the following points by referring engine parameters using TML diagnostic tool before handing over to customer. Step Checks IF YES IF NO 1. Loose connection or poor contact on socket Clean the Rust or repair or replace Go to Step 2 2. Check the disturbance on sensor lines caused by the starter Go to Step 3 Establish continuity by rectifying harness connections as per the Circuit schematic 3. Check any disturbance on sensor lines during a stop phase Check all the signals Go to step 4 4. Bad crankshaft trigger wheel provokes reverse signal that is not plausible Go to Step 5 5. Fault Still Persists? Replace Sensor and then Fault still persists then Replace EMS ecu Follow the steps again for reconfirmation
