P1C06-62: Neural gear sensor Check for error for CAN input-Checked against Gear Angle Overview: ISO Code P1C06 -62 Customer Symptom 1. ESS Autostop/ Autostart Function will not work. 2. IAC Control will not work in Intermittent Mode. Fault Effects (On Vehicle) 1. ESS Autostop/ Autostart Function will not work. 2. IAC Control will not work in Intermittent Mode. Lamp Status (If Any) CE Lamp ON after 1 drive cycle Fault Detection Condition If neutral gear is selected the output angle is checked if it is in plausible range. This monitors if the output signal of the sensor is drifted too Much. Error will be reported if the calculated neutral gear angle is less than or greater than calibrated threshold. The signal value is out of range Normal Operating Condition Neutral Gear Sensor detect the Neutral Gear position Probable Trouble Area Neutral Gear Sensor, Wiring Harness Healing Condition After 1 Drive cycles and ignition ON Fault permanent deletion 1. Scan tool Service 14 2. Stack Over Flow. 3. 40 warm up cycles. 4. ECU flashing 5. ECU power fail Component Details: This is mainly required for Engine start Stop functionality in Manual Transmission. Sensor is used to detect Neutral position and non-neutral position. Preliminary Checks: 1 ) Loose/ Damaged Connections or Intermittent fault. 2) Sensor supply line Short circuit to Battery. 3) Sensor Signal line Short circuit to Battery/ Sensor Supply/ Ground. 4) Check the continuity from sensor connector pins to the ECU pins. 5)Check for back out of pins at both Sensor connector and ECU connector. 6) Check for damage of pins at both sensor connector and ECU connector. 7) Faulty Engine Neutral Position Sensor. 8) Faulty ECU Trouble Shooting: - Step Checks IF YES IF NO 1. Is there wiring harness electrical continuity between ECU pin 232 & Neutral Gear Sensor signal pin no.1 Go to Step 2 Establish continuity by rectifying harness connections as per the circuit schematic 2. Sensor supply line Short circuit to Battery. Repair the harness as per the schematic Go to Step 3
