DRIVETRAIN-TA65 Star 72 5.8. C. Disassembly and Assembly of CV Joint Assembly (Outer): 1. Clean the shaft thoroughly using cleaning solvent and hold the shaft at the middle of the axle shaft in the vice. 2. Remove the large seal retaining clamp from the CV joint with a side cutter or a screw- driver with rounded tip and discard. 3. Remove the small seal retaining clamp from the axle shaft with side cutter or screw driver with rounded tip) and discard. Slide the seal away from the joint along the axle shaft. 4. Wipe the grease from the face of CV joint inner race. Angulate the CV joint on the axle shaft and expose the retainer ring. By holding the retainer ring in open position using a plier, pull, the CV joint outer race at the larger diameter until the joint separates out.
