Revotron 1.2T 87 2.7 Engine On Vehicle Service Procedure: A. Engine Removal : Description In many cases, the engine can be repaired while still in the vehicle. The engine must be removed in cases where the engine has been severely damaged beyond repair or the type of repair necessitates removal. Use the following procedure as a guide to engine removal and installation. Removal NOTE • Access to an overhead hoist will ease removal of the engine. • Use a vehicle lifting hoist, if available. 1. Place the vehicle on the two post lift and engage the parking brake. 2. Open the hood (bonnet) of the vehicle. 3. Disconnect the fuel supply connection to Engine by relieving the fuel pressure. 4. Disconnect the negative (-) cable and then the positive(+) cable from the engine. 5. Disconnect and label the Engine wiring harness connection with ECU. 6. Remove Battery, Battery plate and ECU from the vehicle. 7. Raise the vehicle off the ground and drain the engine oil by removing the drain plug into a suitable container. 8. Drain the engine coolant by removing drain plug into a suitable container. 9. Remove the drain bolt (1) from the transaxle. Drain the transaxle oil from the vehicle. 10. Recover A/C gas and oil, using recovery unit.
