ELECTRICAL 7 B. ELECTRICAL COMPONENT HANDELLING IN CASE OF HEAT & WATER 1. If temperature is going beyond 80 deg C, remove heat sensitive electrical parts before commencing work. 2. Avoid direct contact of electrical components with water. C. ECU HANDELLING PRECAUTIONS 1. Kindly refrain from touching any microcomputer’s terminals (BCM, EMS, PEPS etc.) Human body contains static electricity, which can damage these parts. 2. Also, while checking for electrical parameters of any ECU which requires use of testing equipment (voltmeter, ohmmeter etc), kindly follow prescribed instruction of specific ECU. D. TERMINAL PARAMETER CHECKING: 1. Kindly check the terminals such that Tab half should be in curved shape and Receptacle half should be like slight opening, such that Receptacle should lock Tab to prevent open circuits. 2. At the time of checking the voltage of circuits, battery voltage must be 11V or higher to get accurate values. In case if it is below 11V there is a chance of getting wrong values during the process. 3. Use TML standard testing probe as shown below. 4. Testing probe should not be inserted from mating side, as it can deform the terminal.
