BRAKES (Non EPB) 10 PROBLEM CAUSE REMEDY BRAKE NOISE 1. Glazed pads or foreign matters stuck on pads. 2. Worn or distorted brake pads. 3. Loose front wheel bearings. 4. Distorted backing plate or loose mounting bolts. 1. Repair or Replace pads. 2. Replace pads. 3. Replace wheel bearing. 4. Replace or retighten. EXCESSIVE PEDAL TRAVEL 1. Partial brake system failure either in dual circuit or in Master Cylinder. 2. Air in system (pedal soft / spongy). 3. Soft or bulging hose. 4. Lining pad knock back caused by loose or worn wheel bearing or other related parts. 5. Insufficient fluid in master cylinder reservoir. 1. Identify and repair by replacing necessary parts. 2. Bleed and top up with recommended brake fluid. 3. Replace. 4. Adjust or replace faulty parts as necessary. 5. Fill reservoir with approved brake fluid check for leak and air in brake system. Check warning light, bleed system if require. PARKING BRAKE INEFFECTIVE. 1. Brake pads greasy. 2. Excessive free play of cables. 1. Change brake pads after rectifying the cause of leakage if any. 2. Adjust cables. NOTE If the above problems are not there then proceed further with the checking of brakes for grabbing
