COMPLAINT CAUSE REMEDY 7 Engine over- heating • Defective temperature sensor • Less coolant in the system • If observed immediately after coolant refilling • Defective water pump • Radiator fan not working • Thermostat defective • Engine overloaded due to :- a) Brake binding b) Clutch slippage • Replace the temperature sensor • Top up • Perform deaeration • Replace the water pump • Check and rectify if required re- place • Check and replace if necessary a) Adjust brake shoes b) Replace affected parts 8 Abnormal Noise from engine • Noise from bearings of bearing block • Noise from Alternator/ Power steer- ing pump bearing • Timing belt loose • Water pump bearing failure • Connecting rod bush worn out • Big end/Main bearings & journals of crankshaft worn out • Piston Ring broken • Crankshaft broken • Silencer choked • Air Filter Element choked • Fuel Filters choked • Defective Injectors • Check for any loose connection or leakages in the air intake system and exhaust system circuit • Repair/Replace the bearing block • Repair/Replace the alternator /power steering pump • Adjust the belt tension/Replace the belt • Replace the bearings / water pump • Replace Connecting rod bushes • Replace bearings & affected parts • Replace piston rings & affected parts • Replace the affected parts • Clean the silencer • Replace the air cleaner element • Replace the fuel filters • Replace Injectors • Tighten loose connections and ensure for no leakage. 9 Poor pick up • MIL ON • Air filter element choked • Fuel filter choked • Low tyre pressure • Brake binding • Engine overheat • Water in fuel lamp glowing • ABS lamp ON • Check for Diesel leakage • Check for fault code and get it rectified • Clean air filter as per recommenda- tions • Replace the fuel filter • Replace the fuel filter • Re-set the brakes • Top up coolant • Drain the water sedimentor • Rectify the ABS unit • Rectify the leakage
