ENGINE 141 ! CAUTION Be careful not to damage the vapour line pipe. If found damaged replace it. INSPECTION 1. Check tank pressure valve for crack or damage. Replace if any damage is found. 2. When air is smoothly blown from the tank unit side it should pass through the valve. 3. Similarly if air is smoothly blown from the open end side it should pass through the valve. 4. If air does not pass through valve in step 2 or hard blows are required in step 3, replace tank pressure valve. !! WARNING Do not suck air through tank pressure valve. Fuel Vapour inside the valve is harmful. FITMENT 1. Fit the TPV in the clamp such that the open side (orange side) faces the rear of the vehicle. 2. Connect the vapour line to the Tank unit side (black side) and fix the clamp. ! CAUTION Do not kink/pinch or twist hose when they are routed. 3. Fix the TPV cap F. FUEL TANK PURGING PROCEDURE !! WARNING The purging may not remove all fuel vapours. There- fore any repair on fuel tank using external heat or flame may result in explosion causing personal injury or damage. 1. Remove fuel tank from the vehicle. Refer proce- dure as mentioned for fuel tank removal. 2. Remove all fuel lines from fuel tank. 3. Remove fuel pump and fuel level gauge from fuel tank. 4. Shift the tank to flushing area. 5. Fill tank with warm water or normal tap water and agitate rigorously and drain the water through drain plug. Repeat this procedure until inside of the tank is clean. 6. Replace the fuel tank if it is rusty from inside. 7. Completely flush out remaining water after wash- ing. ! CAUTION Do not allow water to remain inside fuel tank after washing. This will cause corrosion inside fuel tank. Use shop cotton cloth for tank cleaning. Do not use cotton waste.
