STEERING 15 B. REGULAR MAINTENANCE : i. POWER STEERING OIL REPLACEMENT : 1. Position the vehicle in the two post lift and lift the vehicle or take the vehicle on pit. 2. Remove the stone guard. 3. Loosen the spring band clamp. Disconnect the return lines and allow the oil to drain. Put suitable container below the lines to collect the oil & avoid the spilling of oil on subframe. 4. Remove the clamp and disconnect the return hose from the reservoir and allow the oil to drain from it as well. 5. Crank the engine for ten seconds without allowing the engine to start (if possible). Stop the engine immediately if the engine starts. 6. Now turn the steering wheel left and right to full-lock (each side) three to four times to drain the oil completely from system. CAUTION:  The power steering oil will drain from both hoses as well as the pump; hence make necessary arrangements to collect the oil.  When the oil is completely drained plug the holes properly to avoid entry of contaminants and dirt particles into the pump. 7. Once the oil is drained, refit the return line and fix the spring band clamp at the required location. 8. Fix the return hose and fit the spring band clamp on it. 9. Lower the vehicle. Fill the oil into the system as per requirement and bleed the system. (For Bleeding procedure refer Hydraulic system Air Bleeding.)
