28 SUSPENSION 5. INSPECTION OF COMPONENTS l Check the condition of rubber bushes of top link, bottom link and panhard rod assemblies (Fig. 31). If necessary replace with new one. l Check the condition of top link, bottom link and panhard rod for any bend, damage etc. If required, replace with new ones. l Check the condition of axle stopper rubber. If perished/cracked, replace with new ones. l Check the condition of spring seat top for any damage (Fig.32). Replace with new one if necessary. l Check the condition of coil spring for any damage, cut or permanent set etc. Replace with new one if necessary. Caution Spring seat top and coil spring are matched. Use the coil spring with appropriate spring seat as given below (Fig. 33) . Spring Colour Spring Seat top Code No. of lugs White Two Red One Blue Nil l Check the condition of antiroll bar for any bend etc. If necessary replace with new one. l Check the condition of shock absorber for any leakage / damage etc. If necessary replace with new one. Caution Shock absorber fitted in this vehicle is with built- in rebound stopper. There is no separate rebound stopper fitted. Hence vehicle SHOULD NOT BE DRIVEN without OE shock absorber. Running the vehicle without OE shock absorber or fitment of non-genuine shock absorber may lead to coil spring coming out in dynamic condition especially on rough roads and also during jacking up. 6. ASSEMBLY / INSTALLATION PROCEDURE a) ASSEMBLY / INSTALLATION OF BOTTOM LINK l If rubber bushes have been removed, refit new bushes using suitable drift. l Install the bottom link in position, tighten the bolts to 16 mkg torque. l Connect the propeller shaft to tail pinion and tighten the screws. l Route the parking brake cable LH through the hook on frame and connect it to the link. Adjust the parking brake. Refer brakes Group. b) INSTALLATIONOF COIL SPRINGREARWITH SPRING SEAT (Fig. 32) l If new coil spring/spring seat top is fitted ensure that coil spring colour code and no. of lugs in spring seat top are matching. For details of matching 'refer Inspection of components' l Install the spring seat top in position. l Support the front wheels with wheel chocks to prevent the vehicle from any movement. l Jack up the frame suitably so that the coil spring can be inserted between the spring seat top and bottom. l Ensure smaller pitch of the spring is at bottom. l Gradually lower the jack so that the spring gets compressed to normal position.
