15 4 PL FUEL SYSTEM FUEL LEVEL WARNING LIGHT (Fig. 17) : 1. Drain fuel tank into an approved container refer procedure as mentioned in fuel tank removal. 2. Ensure that the car is parked on level surface. 3. Add less than10 lit of fuel and turn the ignitionswitch ON. 4. The low fuel warning light should come on within 2 sec. a) If light comes on go to step 5. b) If light does not come ON or only comes ON dimly checkwiring. If OK, remove combination meter and check bulb. If bulb is OK, replace fuel tank gauge. 5. Add fuel so that the total fuel will bemore than 8 lit and check that the light goes OFF. a) If light does not goOFF,check for short circuit in the wiring harness. If no short circuit, replace fuel tank gauge. b) If light goes OFF, turn the key OFF. Test is complete. Fig. 17 Fuel Level Warning Light
