ENGINE 102 Fig. 15 Fig. 16 Fig. 17 CAMSHAFT AND CAMSHAFT GEAR REMOVAL OF CAMSHAFT 1 Remove cylinder head cover. 2 Remove rocker assemblies with shafts. 3 Remove push rod chamber cover. 4 Remove push rods and valve tappets. 5 Remove vacuum pump head, sleeve, connecting rod & piston. 6 Remove oil sump. 7 Remove oil pump. 8 Remove pulley from crankshaft. 9 Take out the oil slinger & remove timing housing 10 Remove HP pump. 11 Lock flywheel suitably. Using adapter, 2610 5890 03 04 unscrew camshaft bolt Fig. 15. 12 Remove camshaft, key and thrust washer. 13 Unscrew bolts holding camshaft mounting flange to of crankcase 14 Remove camshaft with mounting flange from crankcase. Fig. 16. INSTALLATION OF CAMSHAFT 1 Insert camshaft carefully into crankcase so that bearings are not damaged. 2 Align holes of camshaft mounting flange and corresponding tapped hole in crankcase. Screw in camshaft mounting flange screws and tighten them to specified torque Fig. 17. 3 Install thrust washer and key on camshaft. 4 Install camshaft gears on camshaft.
